CLOVIS, CALIFORNIA – A woman was struck by a pickup truck while jogging around 8:30 this morning. The woman was walking with her dog at Mitchell and Sylmar avenues when she was hit by a Chevrolet truck. The truck was driven by a woman who was on her way to an appointment according to a Clovis Police Department spokeswoman. The woman died following the accident. Her dog, a two year old female Doberman Pinscher named Hana, was seriously injured and taken to a Fresno pet hospital. The intersection was subsequently closed until 2 p.m.
