PORT HUENEME, CALIFORNIA – The Coast Guard reported this morning that a 653 foot freighter was damaged after it collided with the pier in Ventura County. The vessel, called Otello, was bringing cars into Port Hueneme on Friday when it hit the pier. Fortunately, no one was seriously injured. The Swedish-flagged ship, however, had a large gash in its side. The pier was also damaged. The accident is currently being investigated by the Coast Guard.
