HUNTINGTON BEACH, CALIFORNIA – 55-year-old Martin Espinoza of Huntington Beach was killed in a six-car accident Tuesday. Espinoza was driving his 1994 Dodge Intrepid north on Brookhurst Street near Adams Avenue when he failed to stop in time. He hit the back of a Dodge Caravan driven by 38-year-old Paige Beyer.
That collision started a chain reaction that damaged six vehicles in total. Beyer was taken to Hoag Hospital and treated for injuries to her arms and legs. She was subsequently released. No one in the other vehicles, besides Espinoza, was injured. Espinoza was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for the treatment of serious injuries. He was pronounced dead at the same hospital at around 3:30 am Wednesday. Police are still investigating the accident.
This car accident led to the tragic death of one of the involved parties. It also injured another party. Even though the man who appears to have caused the accident has now passed away, the injured woman may still be able to recover expenses for her injuries from his estate. The victim of a serious car accident may end up spending a great deal of money and emotional energy as a result of injuries caused by someone else’s poor driving.
