SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – A 70-year-old woman was hit by an SUV while crossing the street in the Gaslamp Quarter late on Tuesday night. The woman was walking southbound on E Street and was allegedly crossing with the walk sign when she was hit just after 11 p.m.

The 50-year-old driver of the SUV was making a left turn onto E street from southbound Sixth Avenue when he hit the woman. She sustained major head trauma when she was struck. She was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Traffic investigators are currently investigating the accident. They could not provide any updates as to the woman’s name or her condition as of Wednesday.
