ORANGE COUNTY, CALIFORNIA – An SUV overturned and blocked two lanes on the southbound 405 freeway just south of Harbor this morning. The California Highway Patrol said the accident occurred around 9:35 a.m. An earlier accident on the northbound I-5 freeway at Los Alisos had blocked two lanes. In that accident, a motorcycle was involved in a collision with a vehicle and at least one person was injured.
Prior to that, in the very early morning, a big rig and two other vehicles were involved in a collision on the eastbound 91 freeway just west of Knott. All lanes of the 91 were closed for clean up for a period of time following that accident. The CHP said that the big rig hit an abandoned green Acura that appeared to have spun out in a previous accident and been left. About 100 gallons of diesel spilled from the big rig in that accident. Not far from the scene of that collision, a vehicle caught fire and blocked the number 3 and number 4 lanes. All accidents have since been cleared but some took several hours.
The many car accidents in Orange County this morning disrupted the morning commute and left at least one person injured. Unfortunately, car accidents are a reality of life in Southern California. If you have been involved in an injury accident, you may wish to speak with a personal injury attorney.
