LA MESA, CALIFORNIA – One day after a 25-ton steel pipe fell off a truck on State Route 125 at Interstate 8, another big rig hit a wall. This big rig got into an accident on Interstate 8 ramp on Saturday. A large chunk of concrete and debris was knocked onto southbound SR 125 in the accident.
The truck was traveling west on the elevated I-8 connector to southbound SR-125 when it jack-knifed and hit a wall around 10:20 a.m. No serious injuries were reported but traffic lanes were partially blocked. In Friday’s crash, a truck carrying a 50 foot steel pipe hit a barrier wall and rolled over on an elevated connector. The pipe then struck a taxi cab on La Mesa Boulevard below. Two people were injured in that accident.
