SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – One person died and two others were injured in an accident at the intersection of Genessee Avenue and Torrey Pines Road on Sunday night. The accident occurred around 10 p.m. when one vehicle rear-ended another vehicle. Both vehicles subsequently burst into flames.

The identity of the person who was killed has not yet been released, pending notification of family members. Similarly, the conditions of the people who were injured are also unavailable. The intersection was closed for several hours while officers investigated the circumstances. Investigators are trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol were a factor in the accident.
