LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – 49-year-old Jamel Kammoun was killed in an accident after he was hit by a car while on his morning walk in Rancho Palos Verdes. The accident occurred on Sunday morning as Kammoun was walking along Hawthorne Boulevard near Alta Vista Drive. A 17-year-old driver was speeding on Hawthorne when he lost control of his vehicle. He had two other teenage passengers with him at the time.

The car jumped the curb and hit Kammoun, then sideswiped several trees and finally broke a section of a block wall. One of the passengers in the car was hurt. Kammoun was transported to a local hospital where he died a short time later. The teen driver has not been arrested yet but he may eventually face vehicular manslaughter charges. An investigation is ongoing.
