VISTA, CALIFORNIA – A 15-year-old skateboarder was killed Friday night in Vista when he was struck by a hit-and-run driver. The accident happened shortly after 7 p.m. near Thibodo Road and Edna Way. After hitting the skateboarder, the car left the scene heading toward Sycamore Avenue.
According to witnesses, the vehicle was a white 1990s Toyota Camry with tinted windows. The car had a broken headlight and possible front-end damage. The male skateboarder suffered major trauma. Sheriff’s Department officials said that the victim was transported to the hospital where he later died of his injuries. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the Sheriff’s Department.
