NORTH COUNTY SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – A 26-year-old Marine will face felony drunk diving charges in connection with a head-on collision Monday night on state Route 76 east of Interstate 15 in the Pala area. Claudio Moran was driving a 2008 Toyota Tacoma eastbound on Route 76 around 9:10 p.m. He was driving about 65 miles per hour when he crossed the double yellow line and struck a 2002 Toyota Sienna head on. Moran had been drinking at the time.
The driver of the minivan, a 46-year-old woman suffered a broken left arm in the accident. Moran also had a broken left arm. Moran will be arrested in the accident after he is released from the hospital. Lanes in both directions were blocked after the accident.
