SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – Police are investigating an accident involving a trolley and a U.S. Postal Service van in downtown San Diego on Wednesday. Two people were injured in that crash, which was reported around 11:30 a.m. at Park Boulevard and G Street. At least two trolley passengers were hospitalized with injuries.
20-year-old John Lyman was sitting in the front seat of the trolley. He said it was going north and it appeared that it had a green light when it was hit by a mail van. Lyman said that all of the traffic on G Street was stopped at the light, except for the mail van. The woman who was driving the van did not appear to be injured. The two people who were injured on the trolley included a man in a wheelchair who bumped his head on the window and a woman who was standing at the time of the collision.
