SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – A 38-year-old bicyclist was hit by a city dump truck on Monday afternoon in Oak Park, according to police. The accident was reported at 54th Avenue and Krenning Street just before 1 p.m., said Gary Hassen, San Diego police spokesman.
Police had originally reported that the man was a pedestrian but then corrected the report to say he had been on a bicycle at the time of the accident. Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the man tragically died before he could be taken to the hospital. Eastbound traffic on College Grove Drive and 54th was shut down while officers investigated the crash.
