SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – 31-year-old Sarah Rachelle Phillips was killed in an accident off a highway transition ramp. Phillips was driving her Nissan Xterra south on the Interstate 805 freeway around 11:15 a.m. Saturday when she took the connector ramp to south state Route 15 near City Heights.
At that time, she hit a puddle and spun out of control. The SUV veered off the roadway and rolled several times. Phillips was ejected from her vehicle and died at the scene. She was the only person in the vehicle at the time. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
