SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal accident involving a semi truck on northbound state Route 15 at Ocean View Boulevard Tuesday. A man driving a Toyota sedan was driving north on the freeway when he suddenly veered across traffic onto the Ocean View onramp just before noon.

The Toyota clipped the back of a disabled commercial truck that was parked on the shoulder at the time. The Toyota spun around and crashed. The driver of the Toyota was killed in the accident. The big rig driver, who had been standing in front of the disabled truck with the hood open, was hit in the accident and taken to the hospital with serious injuries. The off ramp was subsequently closed for investigation and a traffic advisory was issued for the area.
