SANTEE, CALIFORNIA – A man killed in a weekend accident has been identified as Catarino Montaro Navarro. He was 62 years old. Navarro was a passenger in a 1994 Plymouth Voyager minivan driving on Wildcat Canyon Road just south of Muth Valley Road around 12:20 p.m. Sunday. The minivan was then hit by a 2004 Ford F-150. Witnesses told the California Highway Patrol that the Ford’s driver had been speeding on the wet road when he lost control of the vehicle.
The woman driving the minivan suffered moderate injuries. Navarro was pulled out of the vehicle form the passenger side floorboard after the accident. Emergency workers pulled him out and performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation on him. Tragically, he could not be saved. Officials said he had not been wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident. Navarro was married and lived with his wife.
