HAYWARD, CALIFORNIA – A 4-year-old boy was hit by a sport utility vehicle on Friday afternoon. Police say the boy was playing in the parking lot of an apartment complex just after 3 p.m. when he was hit.
Lieutenant Bryan Matthews of the Hayward police department said the 29-year-old driver of the SUV was a resident of the complex. He is cooperating with the police. The boy was tragically killed in the accident. Authorities have not released the name of the driver or the boy. A full investigation is pending.
