LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA – A motorist was killed in a three-car accident on the 101 Freeway in the Cahuenga Pass on Monday morning. The accident occurred around 4:40 a.m. on the southbound 101 at Pilgrimage Terrace in Hollywood, according to CHP Officer Jennifer Connolly. It was clear at least three vehicles were involved and it could have been more as well.
A driver in his 30s was killed in the accident. He was pronounced dead at the scene but has not yet been identified. For awhile following the accident, both sides of the 101 Freeway were closed. Two lanes of southbound 101 were reopened by 7 a.m. but traffic remained heavy for some time after. Much of the traffic was diverted off the freeway at Highland Avenue. The cause of the accident is currently under investigation.
