GARDEN GROVE, CALIFONIA – An accident in Garden Grove left four students injured after their high school prom. The Marina High students left the Disneyland Hotel and were traveling south on West Street around 12:30 a.m. Sunday when their silver BMW struck a parked truck near Reva Drive, according to officials with the Garden Grove Police Department. A light pole near the truck was also knocked down in the accident.
The police believe the 18-year-old man behind the wheel at the time of the accident was under the influence of alcohol and may have been involved in illegal street racing. According to the Marina High School website, prom attendees and their parents had to sign contracts before the event that any guest suspected of using alcohol would be removed from the dance. All four people in the BMW wee taken to UCI Medical Center with serious injuries. A full investigation is still pending.
