NORTHRIDGE, CALIFORNIA- A woman was killed in a car accident after her SUV was rear-ended by another vehicle at a traffic light. The victim was in her Infiniti SUV stopped in a turn lane at the intersection of Reseda Boulevard and Devonshire Street. Officials say she was waiting for a green light on June 21, 2010 when her SUV was rear-ended.
The vehicle who rear-ended her was a Mercedes sedan going east on Devonshire at a high rate of speed. The impact pushed the SUV into the intersection and the SUV caught fire. The sole occupant of the SUV was pronounced dead at the scene. The Mercedes also swiped a second vehicle and then rolled over. The driver of the Mercedes was transported to an area hospital with critical injuries. The occupants of the second car that was struck were uninjured.
