SAN DIEGO, CALIFORNIA – A pickup truck clipped a house and went into a second home Thursday afternoon in Del Cerro. The accident was reported at 12:48 p.m. on Camino Largo near Camino Estrellado. Crews asked the city building engineer to send someone to inspect the structures, according to San Diego Fire Rescue Department dispatchers.
The crash sparked a fire in the attic of one of the homes but firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames, according to department spokesman Maurice Luque. No one was home at the time of the accident. The car finally came to rest on top of a gas meter. The driver was taken to the hospital. A full investigation is pending.
